In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Park Güell's declaration as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and coinciding with the 40th issue of the magazine dedicated to Park Güell, Casa Jaqués at Park Güell will host the exhibition Park Güell, the Urbanization that Never Was from June 13th to July 14th.
The exhibition will feature a collection of the 40 iconic covers of the modernist magazine. These covers are renowned for depicting architectural and ornamental elements of the most significant Modernist constructions. Among the exhibited pieces, the latest edition of the magazine stands out, dedicated to Park Güell, which includes an ornamental representation of Gaudí located in the Hypostyle Hall of Park Güell, showcasing the "trencadís" technique used by the architect to simulate natural elements.
The latest edition also contains an article by Mireia Frèixas, Professor of Art History at UB, who wrote the introductory article for issue 40 about the origins of Park Güell.
The exhibition will be available from June 13th to July 14th and is free to the public during the following hours:
• From Thursday, June 13th to Sunday, June 16th, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm
• From Thursday, June 20th to Sunday, June 23rd, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm
• From Thursday, June 27th to Sunday, June 30th, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm
• From Thursday, July 4th to Sunday, July 7th, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm
• From Thursday, July 11th to Sunday, July 14th, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm
