Maintenance work on the El Carmel entrance
Maintenance work on the El Carmel entrance
Please note that maintenance work is currently in progress on the entrance at C/ Carmel, 23, to make it easier and more practical to use. This work does not affect visits and the entrance can still be used to access Park Güell. The maintenance works are expected to take approximately four months.

In Plaça de la Natura, cleaning and conservation work is being carried out on the Trencadís Bench. Work is also being carried out to restore the modernist railing that originally crowned all of the stone palm trees in the same square.

The park is one of the largest green spaces in Barcelona, ​​with more than 17 hectares, next to the Sierra de Collserola.

The park is located in the district of Gracia, between the neighborhoods of La Salud, Vallcarca-Penitents and El Coll, and borders on Carmelo.

The park contains two large areas: the monumental area, declared as a world heritage site, which covers 12 hectares and the adjacent woodland area covering 8 more hectares.

Answers to recurring doubts

Park Güell has achieved two certifications: Global Safe Site, Safe Tourism Certified and Safe Travels. These certifications recognize that the organization fulfills all established safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. On our safety measures you will find more information on the measures taken as well as some recommendations.

Park Güell has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

Our goal is to find a balance between tourist activities and social uses, more than anything so that local residents from the adjacent neighbourhoods are able to enjoy the park in peace.

Consequently, requests which do not relate to scientific purposes or training linked to our heritage will not be granted authorisation.

People with reduced mobility may have difficulty getting around Park Güell due to its architectural features, with flights of steps and uneven paths. There is a specific itinerary adapted to people with mobility difficulties.

Two wheelchairs are available upon request at Park Güell. If you have any kind of special requirements, please contact the Visitor Attention Service at parkguell@bsmsa.cat

The tourist coach car park has 3 available spots for people with reduced mobility.

Park Güell occupies 12 hectares, which include the monumental, forest and panoramic areas. Its regulation allows us to preserve this iconic space and improve the quality of life of local residents, while at the same time offering a better experience for the thousands of visitors of the Park, who will find a better quality experience and a more accessible setting. The income generated by this tourist management will be used to improve Park Güell and its setting.

Gaudir Més was created as a Barcelona City Council initiative with the aim of acquainting citizens with the culture and history of the city offering discounts and other advantages.To become an active member a previous registration is required. More information at Gaudir Més.

 

 

 

Yes, there is the 'Park Güell and schools' program, which offers educational centres from EU countries the chance of visiting the restricted area with a guide specialised for your age group, or unaccompanied as long as a series of requirements are met. For this reason, any interested schools should send an email to the Park Güell Commercial Department at parkguell@bsmsa.cat.

 

 

Yes, the access regulation of Park Güell guarantees free entry to Baldiri Reixac, Jesuïtes de Gràcia (Kostka), Reina Elisenda-Virolai, Montseny and Turó del Cargol schools, including the children themselves, members of their families or persons accredited by the father/mother or legal representative.
