The monumental staircase, which leads to the focal points of Park Güell, is one of the busiest places in the park, and it therefore needs constant attention. For this reason, in 2020 and 2021, various operations were carried out by the Heritage and Parks and Gardens departments.
The plants and the sediment deposited in the first basin of the Dragon Stairs were cleaned up. Then, the compass structure was also restored, along with the platforms on the stairway.
Finally, the restoration of the area was completed with the recuperation of the site's trencadís mosaic.
